3 Donut Dates To Go On In Vancouver

Right now, everyone’s asleep at my house. It’s like 11pm at night and I’m all of a sudden hungry and craving dessert. There’s a lonely donut in the kitchen… Timmy’s Coconut Cream. I pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds and voila! All mine.

Friday, June 1st is National Donut Day, so why not celebrate it with a Donut-Date, with or without the kiddos! My husband Chris and I love donuts. We both really like Timmy’s Chocolate Toasted Coconut Donut. We can’t deny a fresh, original Krispy Kreme. And we’ll go out of our way for a Lee’s donut.

Here are 3 of our favourite “Donut Dates”

A Granville Island stroll with a visit to Lee’s Donuts

Find free parking on Granville Island and stop at the Market Place at Lee’s Donuts. They’re to die for. I like the chocolate crumbly ones and their original Honey Dip ones are so good too. Buy your donuts, get a coffee and stroll over to the Playground for endless fun. It’ll be hard to leave! Sorry in advance!

A Bike Ride Around the Seawall, but first Cartems

Park on East 6th in Vancouver by Cartems Donuts. It’s on Main and E 6th. You can find free parking in the neighbourhood. There’s pay parking on the street. Grab donuts at Cartems. My favourite one is the Smoked Maple Walnut. The smoked walnuts are so tasty and unique! Then grab your bikes and bike down to Science World and along the seawall towards the Olympic Village to people watch or towards the casino to grab more food downtown.

Tall trees, ocean breeze and Honey’s

Honey Donuts is a favourite of ours. These are some heavy donuts. They’re like fried cake. Fried, melt in your mouth cake. Honey’s is in Deep Cove. Walk around, do some shopping or take a hike up Quarry Rock and end your trip at Honey.

Bonus! Outpost Mini Donuts after a Beer at Britannia

I have to throw this in here because I’m from Steveston and one of our favourite places to go in Steveston is Britannia Brewing Co. It’s right in the village. If it’s nice out, we’ll grab a seat outside on the patio. Even though it’s a brewery this place is super kid friendly, we’ve been taking Mikayla to this spot since she was brand new! After or even before… walk over to Outpost Mini Donuts for some of the FRESHEST mini donuts you’ll ever have! They have many flavours, but I like the original cinnamon and sugar. These donuts are so fresh they’ll actually melt in your mouth.

Happy Donut Day friends! xoxo

I’ve lived in Vancouver my whole life and have never been to these donut shops! I’ll have to check these places out for sure!
