With most Remembrance Day services being limited or by invite only due to COVID here are three ways to honour Remembrance Day with your kids:
Draw or paint a poppy picture
A fantastic way to teach your children about Remembrance Day is to have them paint or colour a picture of a poppy and tape it in your window. The Royal Canadian Legion has a teaching guide on their website and this is one of their suggestions. https://legion.ca/remembrance/youth-and-remembrance .
This is a great activity for all ages.
Join a virtual classroom
Joyful Learning Academy is offering a free virtual classroom to teach children all about Remembrance Day. It will include links to Remembrance Day services across Canada you can watch from home, printable activities and so much more.

Donate to the Poppy Fund
Donating is so important. Explain to your child how the money helps veterans. Poppy funds are used for providing financial assistance to Veterans (including Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP) and their families who are in need.

Also, be sure to wear your poppy and watch a ceremony. Most major news stations will be broadcasting ceremonies from across the country.
