We are so excited for our baby boy to be here. We can’t wait to meet him! This was the first time Chris & I put together a nursery. With our first, we lived in a 1-bedroom apartment so Mikayla spent the first bit of her life with us in our bedroom. Her “nursery” was a little corner in our bedroom. We made it cute still but nothing like this.
Chris and I wanted to keep his room very simple and neutral. We started with a colour pallet. I wanted to do white, pops of yellow, green and black. We reused furniture we already had around our house, including the white Ikea sideboard and we reupholstered a vintage armchair from teal to light grey.
Chris painted Mikayla’s white crib a very dark grey, almost black. I got a quart of Benjamin Moore’s Natura paint in Black Tar. We lightly sanded her crib in the same direction as the wood grain. We didn’t prime it because we were painting it black. We then painted the crib with 2 coats and some touch-ups.

From there, then I went on a bit of spree to get accessories from Homesense! 🙂
Our closet organization system is a Closet Maid from Home Depot and we used baskets from Homesense to keep all of Baby’s tiny clothes together.
