Okay, every parent has probably experienced the BLOWOUT! And there’s nothing worse than a big mustardy blow out in the infant carseat. In this video, I go through how to take apart and clean the UppaBaby Mesa Infant Carseat.
How to clean the UppaBaby Mesa Infant Carseat
Step one:
Remove the head padding and the padding around the shoulder straps and buckle strap that goes between the legs. You can gently stretch the material over the styrofoam head rest.
Step two:
Remove all padding from the seat by running your fingers along the edges. The edge of the padded fabric liner has plastic tabs that help it tuck back into the plastic seat.
Step three:
Gently remove the sun shade if needed. You can do this by unlooping the elastic loops from the “teeth” of the plastic. You can remove the plastic from the carseat by firmly but gently pulling the plastic away from the hinge. (this was the hardest part).
Step four:
wipe seat belts with a damp, hot cloth if needed. You won’t be able to take the seat belts off the bucket seat.
Step five:
put the fabric liners in the wash. Wash cold and hang to dry! TIP: if you are washing the sunshade, I highly recommend putting it in a laundry bag or hand washing it, as the fabric is very delicate.
Step six:
once everything is dry, you can put everything back the same way you took it off. The plastic tabs on the ends of the fabric seat liner tuck back under and into the plastic seat. You can push the fabric and stretch it and tuck it as far as it goes until the fabric liner is tight and firm just like new.
