A Family-Friendly Hotel, Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa.

Enjoy all the comforts of home at the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa. This hotel is 1 minute away from the Ferry terminal. Our kids didn’t even have time to buckle up by the time we got to this hotel off the ferry!

Located right on the water, this hotel has a beautiful view of the Sturdies Bay. Watch the ferries dock, see the harbour seals pop their heads up and explore the beach. Our kids loved exploring the grounds and garden.

What we loved about the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa

This hotel has an amazing view of the ocean. You wake up to the sound of the ocean hitting the beach and you can see it from the windows.

It has all the necessities for a family.

  • In suite laundry
  • Full kitchen (no oven)
  • Plates, cutlery, pots and pans
  • lots of storage
  • dining area and living room
  • Playpen
  • Patio dining space

The biggest perk was the outdoor bathtub and the outdoor fireplace. We bathed the kids, started a fire with wood they supplied and drank wine by the fireplace as the kids enjoyed their extra bubbly bubble bath. If you get a ground floor unit, you have access to the beach and grassy area, so there is lots of space to run around.

We loved the location of this hotel too! Not only is it 1 minute away from the ferry terminal, but it’s walking distance to the shops, restaurants, cafes, gas station and some great trails. There is also a day spa on the property so you can book a nice massage and sip tea overlooking the ocean.

Drawbacks

The hotel itself is amazing and the service was great for transitioning out of the pandemic. However there are a few tiny details that could be better and give you that luxe vacation feel (since it’s not cheap to stay there). Some of the lightbulbs were flickering in our room, so we just took them out and the drain in our bathtub wasn’t working properly so we used a knife to take it out and drain the tub. Not huge issues at all. The one thing I really wished was better was the sofa bed mattress. It was very uncomfortable, you could feel every spring and movement on it. And because of the pandemic, they don’t clean or tidy the rooms, but they will vacuum the room if you request it (and with 3 kids and a dog, we definitely needed it every night).
