Family Day LONG WEEKEND in BC is February 21, 2022.
Here are some ideas for things to do in and around Vancouver:
If you’ve never been to FlyOver Canada, you should give it a try! It’s unreal!
The multisensory theatre at Canada Place has its regular film about our country as well as the film FlyOver Iceland showing between February 17th and April 18th in 2022. Both films are highly recommended. Kids ride free with the purchase of an adult ticket before 2pm. More Info
Whistler Snowshoeing
If you guys haven’t hit the slopes yet, most of our BC mountains will be having Family Day discounts and special activities. Whistler is offering a plenty of Family Day discounts. Check it out here.
Britannia Mine
Just down the hill from Whistler, Britannia Mine in Squamish is such a fun place for kids. You can ride an authentic mining train through the tunnels underground and go panning for gold! More Info.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Cap Bridge has a new attraction called LOVE LIGHTS, starting February 4th till the 28th. More info.
Sea To Sky Gondola
This is a beautiful experience! Play at the playground at the base of the gondola then head up to snowshoe or go tubing and enjoy the views! Get 50% off snowshoe or crampons rentals midweek, for all of February. More info
Go for a nice walk and feed the birds…
In Delta, the Bird Sanctuary is a beautiful place! Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids 2-14. You can buy a packet of their birdseed to feed to the ducks and geese. More Info.
Make some S’Mores!
Most of Metro Vancouver’s fire ban has been lifted and the fire danger rating is low. Call your local fire department to confirm or visit the link below. You can only burn beach bonfires in designated Metro Vancouver fire rings. I know there are a few at Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen, so bring your blankets, bundled firewood, pack a picnic dinner and have s’mores for dessert! Happy Family Day!!
