If there’s one thing that working from home has taught me, it’s: CHANGE IT UP. Being a creative person and having to be creative for work, there are a few things I do to stay optimistic, motivated and CREATIVE while working from home:
Change it up
Usually this means working from a different spot in my home, rather than always at my desk. Working by a window. Having a meal by the window at our window seat. Changing up your usual scenery to something new and different can boost your mood and even get your head out of a rut.
Optimism
Trying to be optimistic during this time was challenging. Every business I talked to was going through cut backs, lay offs… it’s a dark time. But leading with gratitude, starting or ending the day with gratitude, turning the news off and intentionally choosing to follow or read positive stories kept me in the right mindset to be my best.
Get outside
I am eternally grateful to be in a country where it is safe AND BEAUTIFUL to be outside. Growing up all my best memories were playing outside. So to be able to freely explore, go biking, walk, climb and hike to see beautiful landscapes, swim in lakes, live near the ocean and the mountains helps me stay SAIN, stay optimistic, grateful, motivated and creative.
