It’s an uphill battle for small businesses this year. We can see all around us that businesses are shutting down or they’re pivoting online and opening or improving their online presence and e-commerce stores.
Your support this holiday season is so important. 2 things can give our small shops LIFE. 1. Support and 2. Connection.
Tips on how to support Canadian Businesses During this time:
- Connect with them on social media. Connecting with small businesses and entrepreneurs on Instagram, for example. Commenting and sharing their posts. Asking about their recommendations and products is a big way of connecting with them. It’s also a way you learn more from the experts.
- Buy Local. Supporting small businesses and buying from them, lets them know that you’ve got their back. You want to see their business grow. You want to support the makers and people that they support.
- Bonus points for getting your Christmas shopping done early! Many small shops don’t have the manpower nor the systems or budgets to offer overnight shipping like big box stores – Walmart, Amazon… So being organized and shopping early can help our community and small businesses.
Here’s my little list of favourite local shops and brands.
